September 13 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

09-05-15 at 5:45 p.m.  Sergio M. Pena, age 22 of Aurora, IL, was arrested for Speeding 104/70 MPH on Interstate 88 at milepost 32.  He was bonded on scene and released, pending a future court date.

09-05-15 at 11:27 p.m.  Rachel K. Frick, age 42 of Fulton, IL, was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle following a traffic stop in Fulton.  Fulton Police assisted on scene.

09-05-15 at 11:54 p.m.  Braxton R. Bragg, age 33 of Mansfield, IL, and Stephen N. Burton, age 30 of East Peoria, IL,were contacted at Shell by Deputies and both were ultimately arrested for two counts of DUI each.  They were processed at the Whiteside County Jail and released on bond.  Fulton Police and Midwest Collision assisted on scene.

09-07-15 at 2:45 p.m.  Stephanie A. Ortiz, age 23 of Sterling, IL, was arrested at a rural Sterling address for a Whiteside County Warrant regarding a Violation of Probation – DUI.  She was taken to the Whiteside County Jail.

09-08-15 at 2:49 p.m.  Kellianne C. Holcomb, age 19 of Rockford, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 for Improper Lane Usage.  She was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and released on bond with a written warning for the other offenses.

09-08-15 at 3:47 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident in rural Sterling, IL.  Upon further investigation, Mystie D. Alender, age 25 of Prophetstown, IL, was issued citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident as well as Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Alender was released from the scene with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.  Whiteside County Deputies were assisted on scene by the Sterling Police Department and the IL State Police.

09-11-15 at 8:30 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on IL Route 40 at Blue Heron Drive south of Rock Falls, IL.  Dana L. Szakatits, age 66 of Rock Falls, was originally traveling southbound on IL Route 40 and stopped in traffic waiting to turn onto Blue Heron Drive, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Stephanie G. Schutz, age 20 also of Rock Falls.  Both drivers were transported to CGH for treatment and/or observation by CGH EMS Personnel.  Schutz was later cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.  Rock Falls Police, Rock Falls Fire, Sterling Fire, CGH Ambulance, and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

09-11-15 at 3:10 p.m.  A vehicle driven by Nathan S. Pealstrom, age 21 of Aurora, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 at milepost 37 for speeding.  During the traffic stop, passenger Alan L. Martinez, age 20 of North Aurora, IL, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis – 30 to 500 grams plus Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail for the felony charge.  Another passenger, Stephen O. J. Lambert, age 20 of Aurora, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis – 2.5 to 10 grams and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was bonded from the Whiteside County Jail without incident.  Meanwhile, the driver was arrested for Speeding 83/70 MPH, cited, and released.  Williams’ Towing assisted on scene.

09-12-15 at 11:00 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a reported battery of a child.  Upon further investigation, Christopher B. Schueler, age 33 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested for Aggravated Battery of a Child Under the age of 13.  Afterwards, Schueler was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and held in lieu of bond.

09-12-15 at 1:05 p.m.  Tara L. Hicks, age 35 of Kewanee, IL, was stopped for speeding on IL Route 40 south of Rock Falls, IL.  Tara was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, bonded on scene, and given a written warning for the speeding offense.

09-12-15 at 4:59 p.m.  Elliot E. Manninen, age 23 of Morrison, IL, was stopped on U. S. Route 30 and Moline Road, rural Sterling, IL, for no front registration plate.  During the traffic stop, Manninen was arrested for Unlawful Display of Registration and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  His IL Driver’s License was posted as bond, and he was issued a written warning for No Front Registration Plate.
