Dr. Warren E. Bohnhoff, 86, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at his home in Morrison.
Doc was born September 17, 1928, in Plymouth, WI, to Albert A. and Meada (Kaeding) Bohnhoff. He was educated in the Plymouth Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School. He received a Bachelor of Dairy Science from the University of Wisconsin and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Doc married Rebecca C. Cureton, and later, on November 16, 1984 he married Bonnie K. (Card) Martin in Morrison. He was a practicing veterinarian in Morrison and Whiteside County for many years. Later he was employed as a Dairy Nutritionist for Agri-King Inc., in Fulton, IL, and ANC in DeForest, WI. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison, where he served as a deacon and on the church board. He was a member of Morrison Lions Club and Morrison American Legion Post #328. Doc was known for the planting of walnut trees and his love for animals.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Nancy (Jerry Smith) Bohnhoff of Fayetteville, AR; one son, Brian Bohnhoff of Zephyrhills, FL; two step-sons, Robert (Laura) Martin of Lake Elmo, MN, and John (Brenda) Martin of Morrison; two step-daughters, Wendy (Sonny) Sanders of Marion, IL, and Laurie (Guy) Kimura of Irvine, CA; 12 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pearl Bilgo and Helen Riley; two brothers, Roy and Wilbur Bohnhoff.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL
CO-OFFICIATING: Rev. Mark Winkelman, Senior Pastor and Rev. Mike Winkelman, Associate Pastor, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
