Karla Burn reported it is estimated over 500 people attended the Resthave Home Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting, 408 Maple Avenue, Morrison, IL, held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015. That date is three years to the day from the ground breaking, but many years of planning preceded it.
The completed addition and renovation project is a delight. Board President John Hauptman spoke about the work and the dream that became a reality. There are 70 Nursing rooms and 37 Assisted Living Apartments to serve surrounding communities. Thirteen of the latter are open at this time. Ready for weekly church services and Bible study, the new chapel was lit by original leaded glass. An attractive salon/barber shop is staffed by Mary Buckwalter, Denise Luskey, and Nancy Tucker. Raised garden beds are located in the Nursing unit enclosed courtyard.
“Resthave Home offers a continuum of care, which means that we can be there for you as your health care needs change. We currently offer Assisted Living and Nursing Care, and as of this fall, will offer Skilled Care to provide short-term rehabilitation services.”
Resthave resident Hubert Londo said a few words at the Morrison Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting ceremony and cut the ribbon.
Inside the facility, Martin Brothers supplied an ice sculpture and delicious food. Mayor Everett Pannier and wife Nancy posed at the shrimp bar. Mick Welding, Marketing Director at Morrison Community Hospital, watched visitors enjoy various food buffets. There were pork loin sandwiches on artisan rolls; stuffed mushroom caps and cream cheese filled red potatoes; crudités; cookies and pastries; orange punch with ice cream.
Resthave would like to thank everyone that was involved in the project as well as everyone that was involved in making the grand opening a great success.
