dorothy tiesmanDorothy Mae Tiesman, 83, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

Dorothy was born July 7, 1932, in Morrison, to Clair R. and Dorothy E. (Williams) Scudder. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a 1950 graduate of Morrison High School. On February 23, 1951, she married John H. Tiesman in Morrison. He died May 18, 2010. Dorothy was employed by the former Volkmann’s Furniture Factory in Morrison. She enjoyed music, art, needlepoint, gardening, and spending time with her family. She loved living in the country and being a farmer’s wife. Dorothy was an avid cat lover.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (James) Huett of Erie, IL, and Sherry (Mark) Widener of Fulton, IL; one grandson, John Widener of Fulton; one sister, Judy (John) Hook of Morrison; one brother, Gene (June) Scudder of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one sister, Joyce Blair; one brother, Ray Scudder.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING:  Ken Renkes, Director of Congregation Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church

VISITATION:  4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT:  Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
