Clinton Showboat Announces 2016 Season

CASTinteriorAt the Follies performance on Tuesday night, July 28, 2015, CAST Producing Artistic Director Matthew Teague Miller announced the 2016 summer season.  The theme of the new Clinton Area Showboat Theatre season is “A Season of American Classics.” 

Productions include “The Odd Couple,” “The Music Man,” “South Pacific,” “Grease!” and “The Glass Menagerie.”

Not only will the shows evoke memories, but some of the professional company will return from past seasons on the Showboat.  It was announced that Jay Berkow will return to reprise the role of Harold Hill in “The Music Man.” Berkow was Producing Artistic Director of the Showboat for nine years, beginning in 1998.  Tommy Iafrate  will return to direct. Iafrate also served as Producing Artistic Director from 2012 to 2014. The role of Emile De Becque in “South Pacific” will be played by Gregory Lee Harrell. Showboat patrons will remember him in “Phantom” and “Victor Victoria.”

Currently playing on the Showboat stage, “Steel Magnolias” runs through Sunday, August 2 .  The final show, a 2010 Pulizer Prize winning musical, “Next to Normal,” runs Thursday, August 6, through Saturday, August 15. Special parking arrangements have been made for Friday, August 7.  Showboat parking will be available in the lot north of the ball park.  A free shuttle for theatre patrons will run continually between the lot and the Showboat.

The Showboat Box Office is open for individual ticket sales and seat reservations for the remaining 2015 season, and 2016 season passes are now available.  Box Office hours are 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.  The box office is closed on Mondays.
