The American Legion Department of Illinois is proud to recognize 1st Assistant Chief Joe R. Bielema, from the Morrison Fire Department, as the Firefighter of the Year for the State of Illinois.
Bielema was submitted for the competition from Post #328 in Morrison, IL. He competed against other firefighters throughout the State. Bielema was presented the award at the 97th Annual American Legion, Department of Illinois Convention in Springfield, IL on Friday, July 10, 2015, by the Department Commander Henry Robards and the Department Adjutant Martin F. Conatser.
