Morrison Community Preschool is a not-for-profit agency, which receives partial funding from United Way of Whiteside County and 4C’s. We offer classes for children ages three through five. If your child is three years of age by September 1, 2015, he/she qualifies to attend.
Sessions are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:15 to 10:30 a.m. and Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Openings are available in both sessions. The location is Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.
Director Teri Bealer Added, “Registrations for preschool are on-going. If we have openings, which we do, we will take children year round. If a child turns three after September 1, we will take them during the year when they do turn three. We do not screen our students, but assessments are performed throughout the school year.”
Meet the new Director/Teacher
My name is Teri Bealer and I am pleased to introduce myself as the new director/teacher of the Morrison Community Preschool. I am married to Phil and blessed with two lovely children, Conner who is 23, and Alexis who is 21 and a Senior at ISU. I may be new to the preschool, but I am not new to Morrison. I have lived in Morrison my entire life and am very excited to start this new adventure.
- I come with 15 years of classroom experience in grades preschool through third grade.
- I hold a B.S. in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Early Childhood, from Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, IA.
- I have a Master’s Degree in Reading and English as a Second Language from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL.
I believe that parents are a child’s first and best teacher. My role is to create a partnership with parents to continue to foster what they have begun to teach. I am looking forward to working together with parents to help their child reach his/her full potential and prepare for Kindergarten.
