On Thursday, May 21, 2015, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Morrison Police responded to E. Lincolnway (U. S. Route 30) just west of N. Sawyer Road, Morrison, IL, regarding a motor vehicle and pedestrian crash. The preliminary investigation determined that Raymond E. Printy, age 54 of Chariton, IA, was operating a semi (tractor-trailer combination), traveling eastbound on E. Lincolnway. A 53-year-old male was walking westbound on E. Lincolnway along the south side of the roadway (against traffic.) The semi, operated by Printy, struck the 53-year-old male in the semi’s lane of traffic. The 53-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whiteside County Coroner.
The identity of the 53-year-old male is being withheld pending family notification.
The Morrison Police was assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Morrison Fire Department, Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Medical Services, and the Whiteside County Coroner.
This crash remains under investigation by the Morrison Police.
