May 8 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, May 8, 2015.

Arrests:

On Sunday, May 10, 2015, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop at U. S. Route 30 and Carroll Road (N. IL Route 78) on a vehicle driven by Lila J. Martinez, age 39 of Clinton, IA, for a lane violation.  As a result of the traffic stop and further investigation, Morrison Police arrested Martinez, charging her with Obstructing Identification, Driving While License Suspended, Operating Uninsured Vehicle, Improper Lane Usage, and, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County Circuit Court, Failure to Appear–Driving While License Suspended.  During the arrest of Martinez, medical attention became necessary, and she was transported to the Morrison Community Hospital by MCH Emergency Medical Services.  Morrison Police also arrested a passenger in the vehicle, Martin Hernandez, age 50 of Clinton, charging him with Obstructing Identification and, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County Circuit Court, Failure to Appear–Aggravated Driving Under the Influence/No Valid Driver’s License.  Once Martinez was treated and released by MCH, both Martinez and Hernandez were transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

The public is reminded that these are merely charges, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
