Jean Decker, 74, of Morrison, IL, passed away surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home.

Jean was born on August 9, 1951, in Sterling, IL, to Delbert Wayne and Evelyn Irene (Collier) Van Dusen. She was raised in Sterling, where she attended the Sterling School System and graduated from Sterling High School with the Class of 1969. She later attended Sauk Valley Community College, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree in 1982. She married Ronald Decker, and together they had three children. Jean devoted 30 years to caring for others at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, where she worked as an LPN until her retirement in 2016. Jean loved working in her garden and took great pride in keeping her yard beautiful. She enjoyed baking, crafting, and decorating her home for the holidays, and proudly participated in Morrison’s annual Tour of Homes. Jean faithfully volunteered at her church and was always ready to help others whenever she could. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her family and friends, who brought her endless joy.
Survivors include her daughter, Carie (Billy) Ibrahim of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Ryan Decker of Morrison; five grandchildren, Theron, Maya, and Avaya, and Jett and Sophia; sister, Deb (Jerry) Chapman of Sterling, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeremy Decker; sister, Geraldine “Sis” Zinke; brothers, Delbert “Van” Van Dusen and Ronnie Van Dusen.
A time of Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma Renkes Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Visitation.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Emmanuel Church in Morrison, I L,with Pastor Luke Schouten officiating.
A memorial has been established by the family.
