Students to Attend Rotary Leadership Camp

Posted by

This year the Morrison Rotary Club is sponsoring six Morrison High School students who will attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp in May 2015.  The camp is located at the Lorado Taft Campus of NIU in Oregon, IL.  Left-to-right in the front row are Allyssa Renner, Emily Clark, Morgan Stuhlman, and Madison Steines.  In the back row are Derek Bush, Kaleb McCoy, and Grant Abell.  Clark is a past RYLA camper and a current Camp Counselor.

The purpose of RYLA is for students to improve their leadership skills as they work together in teams, while meeting other students from all over Northern Illinois.  Lasting friendships are built during this time.  The camp is staffed by Rotarians who volunteer their time to provide a safe, positive atmosphere for the students.  Approximately 120 high schoolers will attend the camp, which is held every year.
