Morrison Varsity Baseball topped Sherrard, IL, 4-3, in back-and-forth affair on Thursday, April 2, 2015.

Morrison improves to 6-1 3-0 in the TRAC (Three Rivers Athletic Conference) North.
Mustang Varsity Baseball took the last of four lead changes against Sherrard. They pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. Morrison went up for good on a three-run triple by Mason Sitzmore off Sherrard’s pitcher, Morse, plating Ethan Fischbach, Justin Jensen, and Andy Bird.
The Mustangs staved off Sherrard, who was unable to match their opponent down the stretch.
Sherrard scored one run in the seventh on a groundout by Earl. Despite its efforts, Sherrard could not get over the hump.
Jensen went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Morrison. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Sitzmore got the win for the Mustangs. He allowed three runs over seven
innings. He struck out four, walked three, and gave up two hits. Sitzmore is 1-1 on the year.
Morse could not get it done on the mound for Sherrard, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
Sherrard jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. It did not take long for Morrison to respond, as it scored one run of its own in the 5th.
