4-4arrivalKiwanis adults and Morrison High School Key Club members commandeered the crest of the hill at Kiwanis Park, in the 700 block of N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL, on Saturday, April 4, 2015.  The shelter served as headquarters.

Crowds spanning multiple generations assembled and dutifully aligned themselves behind the egg-yolk yellow taped barrier.  It was time for the annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt.

Morrison volunteer firefighter Brian Tichler delivered the Easter Bunny to the park at 10:00 a.m.  Riding behind was fireman John Bielema and this year’s MHS Key Club Escort, Emily Kuehl.  She and Tichler helped the rabbit alight safely.

There was a brief photo opportunity, before egg-gathering fun began with children ages two and under.  The Easter Bunny award prizes for a few lucky children after each heat.

Adults offered assistance with these little ones.  Doug Alcala brought two-year-old son Deven and six-week-old “Hilda Marie.”  Of his litter of eight Bull Mastiffs, Alcala said four were going to new homes today.
