March 6 Sheriff’s Office Report

Charges listed below are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

02-09-15 at 5:34 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Rock Falls, IL, area.  Upon further investigation, Felicia R. Flores, age 25 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended.  Flores was released on scene with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.  Slim-N-Hank’s assisted on scene.
 
02-14-15 at 4:36 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a motorist in the ditch in Albany, IL.  Jason J. Stearns, age 42 of Clinton, IA, was arrested for two counts of Driving Under the Influence as well as Improper Driving on the Shoulder of the Roadway.  Stearns was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and released with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.  Fulton Police Department and Midwest Towing assisted on scene.
 
02-14-15 at 10:42 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a motorist in the ditch in rural Erie, IL.  Lauren K. Saad, age 25 of Erie, was arrested for two counts of Driving Under the Influence as well as Improper Driving on the Shoulder of the Roadway.  Saad was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where she was processed and released with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.  R and K Towing assisted on scene.
 
02-15-15 at 5:51 p.m.  Whiteside Deputies arrived at 20657 US Route 30 commonly known as the Forest Inn in rural Morrison, IL.  Tiffany A. Martinez, age 37 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrest for an outstanding Lee County warrant for Failure to Appear.  Martinez was transported to the Whiteside County Jail where she was able to post bond.
 
02-15-15 at 6:50 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in rural Sterling, IL.  Upon further investigation, Nyle F. Anderson, age 60 of Sterling, was issued a citation for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device as well as a citation for Failure to Yield at an Intersection.  Anderson was released on scene with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.  Sterling Fire, CGH EMS, Rock Falls Fire, Morrison EMS, Slim-N-Hank’s, Hunter’s, and Illinois State Police assisted on scene.
 
02-15-15 at 9:42 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a stranded motorist in rural Morrison, IL.  Marie V. Wessels, age 54 of Colona, IL, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Unlawful Transportation of Alcohol, and Expired Registration.  Wessels was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where she was processed and released with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.  Rick’s Towing assisted on scene.
 
02-15-15 at 11:17 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to an address in the Village of Lyndon, IL, due to a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle crash.  During the investigation of the crash, Kelly S. Harty age 51 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Operating Uninsured Vehicle, and two counts of DUI.  She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where she was processed and released on a Notice to Appear.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by R and K Towing out of Prophetstown.
 
02-19-15 at 5:30 p.m.  Bronson D. Hughes, age 32 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Violation of the Sex Offender Registry Act.  He was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail without incident.
 
02-19-15 at 7:22 p.m.  Deputies responded to a rural Rock Falls, IL, address for a reported domestic battery incident.  Jovana E. Saldivar, age 19 of Rock Falls, was arrested for Domestic Battery, processed, and released pending a future court date.
 
02-20-15 at 12:15 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Madison Street near the intersection of High Street in Morrison, IL.  During the investigation of the stop, John P. Britt, age 61 of Morrison, was arrested for two counts of DUI.  Britt was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on a Notice to Appear.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by Hunter’s Towing.  
 
02-23-15 at 8:55 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 near the intersection of Riverdale Road for defective exhaust.  During the investigation of the stop, Trent R. Houzenga age 24 of Hanover, IL, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis 10-30 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Houzenga was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released on a Notice to Appear.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by Williams’ Towing.
 
02-23-15 at 10:17 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Prophet Road near
the intersection of U. S. Route 30 for one headlight.  During the investigation of the stop, Sebastian T. Guidry, age 19 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Guidry was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on a Notice to Appear.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by Slim-N-Hank’s Towing.  
 
02-25-15 at 1:29 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Griswold Avenue
near the W. 4th Street intersection in Sterling, IL.  Ester J. Garza, age 24 of Sterling was arrested for two counts of DUI.  Garza was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where she was processed and released on a Notice to Appear.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by Slim-N-Hank’s Towing.
 
02-27-15 at 8:40 p.m.  Jesse L. Gillman, age 48 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Failure to Appear-Suspended Registration and remanded to the Whiteside County Jail without incident, following a reported domestic battery incident at his residence.
 
02-27-15 at 9:40 p.m.  Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies and Morrison Police responded to a single-vehicle roll-over crash on Penrose east of Crosby Road.  When law enforcement arrived, it was apparent there was an injured occupant, but nobody remained on scene.  Through the course of the investigation, Ronald A. Geerts, age 33 of Morrison, IL, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash, Too Fast for Conditions, Failure to Report Crash to Law Enforcement Authority, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  He was processed and released.  Passenger Matthew L. Stanfel, age 37 also of Morrison, was cited for Failure to Secure Seat Belt.  Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.
 
02-28-15 at 12:56 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in rural Sterling, IL.  Upon further investigation, a juvenile was issued a citation for No Valid Driver’s License-Graduated License Classification Violation.  The juvenile was later released to a parent with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance.
 
02-28-15 at 1:10 a.m.  Christopher J. Meggenberg, age 37 of Clinton, IA, was stopped for
Improper Lane Usage on IL Route 84 north of Fulton, IL, and arrested for that offense plus two Counts of DUI.  He was processed at the Fulton Police Department and released pending a future court date.  Fulton Police and Midwest Towing assisted on scene.
 
03-01-15 at 2:07 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Main Street near the intersection of Base Street in Morrison, IL.  During the investigation of the stop, David J. Stuart, age 52 of Morrison, was arrested for two counts of DUI, No Headlights When Required, Possession of Cannabis Less than 2.5 Grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Stuart was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on a Notice to Appear.  The vehicle was removed from the scene by Slim-N-Hank’s Towing.  
 
03-01-15 at 6:00 a.m.  At a rural Rock Falls, IL, address, Whiteside County Deputies arrested William S. McGinn, age 25 of Sterling, IL, for an outstanding Whiteside County Warrant for Conditional Release Violation.  McGinn was unable to post bond and transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
 
03-01-15 at 12:07 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a motorist in the ditch on Interstate 88.  Upon further investigation, Elias G. Lopez, age 32 of West Chicago, IL, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Obstructing Identification, Driving While License Revoked, and Improper Driving on the Shoulder of the Roadway.  Lopez was transported to the Whiteside County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  Sterling Police Department and Slim-N-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
 
03-01-15 at 8:11 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies arrested Kevin M. Ballard, age 22 of Dixon, IL, on an active Whiteside County as well as two Lee County warrants:  Failure to Appear for the original charge of Criminal Trespass to Land, as well as Failure to Appear for the original charges of Retail Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Ballard is currently being held at the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of bond.
 
03-05-15 at 7:22 p.m.  Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the Village of Lyndon, IL, at Moline Road and Lyndon Road.  A vehicle driven by Dustin L. Scott, age 23 of Morrison, IL, was northbound on 5th Avenue East, when he failed to yield to a westbound vehicle on Moline Road driven by Arthur K. Gibson, age 80 of Prophetstown, IL.  Scott was cited for Failure to Yield from a Stop Intersection.  Meanwhile, a passenger in the Scott vehicle, 20-year-old Haley M. Paone of Morrison, was taken to CGH by Prophetstown Ambulance for treatment.  No other occupants/drivers were injured.  Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.
 
03-06-15 at 12:20 a.m.  David W. Dublo, age 37 of Sterling, IL, was stopped for Improper Lane Usage north of Sterling on IL Route 40.  He was arrested for Aggravated DUI, Improper Lane Usage, and Driving While License Suspended.  He was processed at the Whiteside County Jail and remanded to the jail, pending an initial court appearance.  Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
