Morrison, IL, was a recent recipient of the saukvalley.com 2015 Readers’ Choice Award for “Favorite Small Town.” On Friday, February 13, Mayor Everett Pannier, left, MADC/Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Ewoldsen, and City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen celebrated the tribute in the Mayor’s office, 200 W. Main Street, Morrison.
Jennifer Barrata, saukvalley.com’s Group Advertising Director, stated the opinion poll ran in January, online and in print newspapers. Morrison received 59 votes to win the title; the second place nominee–unnamed–received a close 57 votes.
Because several small towns dot the Sauk Valley and comprise saukvalley.com readership, this award was high praise.
CA Dykhuizen added, “That’s great for the prison [employee] community, too.” Additional Federal Bureau of Prisons personnel, who will transition to the area in the near future, are looking for desirable residential options. Morrison officially has been “voted” as the public’s favorite choice!
