Whacked Chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner

Posted by

On Thursday, February 5, 2015, Cross Creek Golf Course, 15523 Henry Road, Morrison, IL, became the scene of a “Family” wedding and murder of rhe off-stage priest, Father Marco Polo.  Seven over-the-top mob characters immediately and enthusiastically greeted Morrison Chamber of Commerce members and guests, upon arrival at the special occasion–a performance of “Whacked at da Wedding.”  It took only moments before attendees of the Chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner were affecting dialects and expressions apropos of Italian mobsters.  The fun had begun!

“It’s A Mystery” is a professional, engaging, improvisation acting troupe from Rock Island, IL, who perform at Skellington Manor, 420 18th Street, or venues such as Cross Creek.  The hilarious cast is shown below with Chamber Past President Heather Toppert, far right.  Left-to-right are Jean Benson (“Mama” Mia Manicotti); playwright and actor Kim Eastland (Julius “Big Julie” Calzone); Jamie Behncke (Gina Delatto); Jerry Wolking (Enrico “Rico” Manicotti); Heidi Redmond (Marissa “The Mouth” Marinara); Michael Callahan (Nickie “Noodles” Nervoso); Jeff Ashcraft (Tony “The Hair” Gelatto.)

During the Business Meeting, Scott Stocker was elected Chamber Board President; Jean Eggemeyer and Jan Roggy were reelected as members.  Stocker introduced the new Chamber Executive Director, Kim Ewoldsen.

Attendees were hapless participants in the drama, to the delight of those not singled out for attention.  When invited to identify the murderer and describe method and motive, no one came close.  For her own safety, the Editor will not rat on…!

That leaves viewers in the clear, should you enjoy Whacked at da Wedding in the future.  Other themes are available by It’s A Mystery! performers.
