Whiteside County Health Department is beginning their Illinois Project for Local Assessment of Need (IPLAN.) This community health assessment is a mandated planning process, that all local Health Departments must conduct every five years. The Health Department surveys the community and analyzes the results, along with available data. This process will help identify the Communities’ top health priorities and develop objectives and interventions.
The IPLAN is an important tool, both locally and for the State. Locally, organizations work to address priorities as support for interventions, and help give priority to funding. Legislators and IDPH can use it to help determine funding priorities.
As part of this assessment, Whiteside County Health Department needs community involvement: to help direct our focus on needs, and to determine objectives and interventions. The survey is available at whitesidehealth.org/iplan and will be available until Friday, February 28, 2025.
