Arnie M. Tegeler (1934 – 2015)

arnie tegelerArnie M. Tegeler, 80, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 24, 2015, under hospice care, after her courageous battle with cancer.

Arnie was born November 17, 1934, in Bernie, WV, to Leonard and Opal (Stowers) Adkins. She was educated in the West Virginia schools. In 1952, she moved to Clinton, IA, and graduated from Clinton High School in 1953. Arnie married Harvey P. Tegeler on September 14, 1956, in Morrison,. He died May 12, 1995. Arnie was employed at the City National Bank in Clinton, from 1953 through 1958. She was later self-employed keeping books at her husband’s auto repair shop, Harv’s Auto Repair in Morrison. Arnie was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and sewing, and loved to babysit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Jonelle (Kevin) Hook of Morrison; two sons, Harvey “Bud” (Connie) Tegeler of Morrison and Tim (Lisa) Tegeler of Morrison; five grandchildren, Jackie (Dustin) Damhoff, Jason (Amanda) Hook, Jenna (Arian) Landheer, Kyle Tegeler, and Emily Tegeler; two step-grandchildren, Billie Jo (Nate) Elder and Ashley (fiancé Tanner Hall) Broderick; three great-grandchildren, Sophie Sue Damhoff, Kaleb Harvey Damhoff, Addison Mae Hook; two step-great-grandchildren, Landon and Hunter Elder; one sister, Bertie Slade of LaPlace, IL; three brothers, Bernard (Emma) Adkins, Roger (Connie) Adkins, and Gary (Cathie) Adkins all of Clinton; and a special sister-in-law, Dona Tegeler of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; one daughter, Becky Tegeler; two sisters, Ludena Peters and Omie Stowers; one brother in infancy.

There will be a private family graveside committal service.

OFFICIATING: Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January, 27, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
