No Utility Billing Penalties for January

Posted by

Morrison, IL, City Administrator Brian Melton submitted this Public Service Announcement on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Due to the delayed delivery of this month’s City of Morrison utility bills, there will be no penalties/late fees on accounts otherwise in good standing for January.

Please be mindful that utility bills are due each month on the 15th.  This due date does not change.  If the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the next regular business day for City Hall.

For any questions or information concerning your utility bill, you may always contact City Hall at your convenience, during regular business hours at 200 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, or 815-772-7657.

ONLINE SERVICES:  As an option, the City offers Online Utility Bill Services at https://morrisonil.frontdeskgworks.com.

Your online account allows you to manage your utility bill.  You may register to receive your utility bill by email, instead of by USPS.  You may also pay your bill online or set up for auto-pay.  If you set up auto-pay through your financial institution, there is no processing fee, but if you pay with a debit/credit card, the online service charges a fee.  You will need your account number to set up your online account.

The City offers a computer for public access at City Hall.  You are invited to City Hall, and staff will assist you in setting up your account online!  Setting up your account online not only allows you to manage your account, but also reduces cost and time for City staff to generate monthly billings for mailing.

On Wednesday, January 8, the City confirmed with the USPS that utility bills are in circulation and being delivered today.  If you have not received your bill in the mail as expected, you should receive it soon.

On behalf of the City of Morrison, I apologize for any inconvenience, hardship, or confusion that may have been caused by the delayed delivery.  We certainly strive to serve our community to the best of our abilities.
