Look for an invitation soon to an Open House to welcome the Morrison of Chamber of Commerce’s new Director, Kim Ewoldsen. The Chamber Board is excited to welcome Ewoldsen, whose extensive and varied experience will be a tremendous asset to the Community.
Through Tuesday, January 27, visit Ashford University’s Cortona Art Gallery, second floor of St. Clare Hall, 400 N. Bluff Boulvard, Clinton, IA. Enjoy a collection of artwork created by Steve Vance, painter, illustrator, designer and Professor of Fine Arts at University of Wisconsin, Platteville, WI. On January 27, Vance will be the Guest Artist at a reception, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the gallery.
The Odell Public Library Friends present “Life-long Learning,” a series of programs to enrich and enlighten. Come to the Odell Program Room, 307 S. Madison Street, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, for the first program, “The Stops of Jesus.” Father Gary Lawler will guide the audience through his travels to Jerusalem and the Sea of Galilee. More interesting programs are planned for coming months. There is no cost. Call the library with any questions

White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center (WHOA) will hold a Trivia Night and Dessert Auction on Saturday, February 7, at 6:00 p.m. The fundraising event will be held at Cross Creek Golf Course, 15523 Henry Road. Tickets are $10 each. Sign up on WHOA’s Facebook page or call 815-772-2669. Gather a team of six or eight, or just join in with others. Proceeds will be used to help support the organization’s therapeutic riding services.
The Odell Public Library Friends continues to present movies monthly at the library’s Program Room, 307 S. Madison Street. On Tuesday, February 10, at 2:00 p.m. enjoy a screening of the 1962 classic, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” The screenings are free, and popcorn and pop are provided.
Save the date. The Friends of April House will present a performance of Midwest Dueling Pianos on Saturday, March 21, at 6:00 p.m. at Cross Creek Golf Course,15523 Henry Road. Tickets are $40 per person and tables of four and eight are available. Tickets include a roaring night of fun, hors d’oeuvres, and a fabulous dessert auction.
