It is time to think about Thanksgiving and Christmas and a Lions Club Holiday Ham! We need to have orders for these delicious hams to our supplier, by Sunday, November 3, 2024, (for Thanksgiving delivery on Friday, November 22.) Orders for Christmas hams must be received by Sunday, December 8, (for Christmas delivery on Friday, December 20.)
Hams are boneless, cooked, and smoked. Small sizes will range from 6 to 10 lbs., and large sizes will range from 11 to 20 lbs. Exact size on ordered hams cannot be guaranteed. Proceeds from these sales help support the visually- and hearing-impaired and Morrison Lions Club community projects.
Beautiful fall weather was perfect for the Annual Lions Candy Days held on October 11 and 12. Community members always support the drive, and Morrison Lions express a sincere thank you to the community. Funds collected are used for vision and hearing needs. Lions of Illinois receive 60%, and 40% is kept by our Club.
Club members completed the fall cleanup on one mile of Highway 30 East. The club has had this as a service project for years. Interesting items are always found each time the volunteers complete the cleanup. The Club also took part in the Morrison Homecoming Parade. “The Lion” rode in the convertible and members walked the route. The Lion makes a big hit with all the children. In the Homecoming Parade were Lion President as “The Lion.” Standing left-to-right were Keith Hamstra, Denice Smith, and Bob Countryman. Seated in the car is Flora Stralow. Lions enjoy having fun along with the service projects we undertake throughout the year.
