Margaret Josephine “Peggy” Kelly Foreman, 95, of Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, Assisted Living, in Morrison, IL, died Friday, September 27, 2024, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation.

Peggy was born December 19, 1928, in Tampico, IL, to Francis Edward and Helen Alice (Brophy) Kelly.  She was educated in Maple Hill grade school and graduated from Morrison High School in 1946.  In 1944-1945, during her Junior year of High School, she worked the night shift at Frantz Manufacturing in Sterling, IL, making ball bearings for the Army cots.  She clerked at both A & P and National Tea Grocery stores and waitressed at several of her mother’s restaurants.  In later years, Peggy worked for Andy Brands at the City Clerk’s Office.  On February 5, 1949, she married Kent W. Foreman in Morrison.  He died November 9, 2015.  Peggy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  She was also a member and Past President of the VFW Auxiliary and Morrison Country Club Auxiliary.  She was an avid golfer and played on the Ladies Lincoln Highway team for seven years.  She enjoyed her family, reading, and playing cards.  She played Bridge up until her final years.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela (Keith) Pickens of Dothan, AL; son, Mitchell (Deb) Foreman of Sterling; son-in-law, Don Afman of Moline, IL; six grandsons, Matt (Teresa) Pickens, Mitch (Candy) Pickens, Cameron Foreman, Lee (Nicole) Foreman, Korey (Anna) Foreman, and Christopher (Kelsey) Afman; several great-grandchildren; sister, Rita (Burt) Seaman of Morrison; sister-in-law, Janice Kelly of Morrison; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kent; daughter, Kellie Afman; great-grandson, Noah Pickens; sisters, Jeri Renkes, Helen Millershone, and Molly Jones; brothers, James and Francis Kelly; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Millershone, Kenneth (Skeeter) Jones, and Henry Renkes.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrison, IL, with Rev. Father Slawomir Zimodro officiating.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the funeral.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

A memorial has been established to Resthave Care & Rehabilitation.
