Three exciting changes soon will be in place at the Morrison High School Football field.  Attend a “Meet the Players” event on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.

Staff, families, students, and fans are invited to gather at E. M. “Bud” Cole Stadium, to celebrate all High School and Junior High Fall athletic teams.  MHS Marching Band students and Color Guards, Cheerleaders, and Pons also will gather on the track.

After Wednesday, September 4, a new, all-weather track surface will be completed.

The Mustangs are members of a new Football Conference:  Northwest Upstate Illini Conference.  The opening Varsity Football game, Friday, August 30, is against Lena-Winslow at 7:00 p.m.  The next Friday night Home games will begin at 7:00 p.m. on September 27 vs Forreston; October 4 vs Dakota; October 18 vs Eastland-Pearl City.

Look for a new Marching Mustangs Color Guard.  This activity is being reactivated from more than 10 years ago.  Hillary Blevins and Ruth Christin are adult co-sponsors who teach technical skills and choreography with flags.  Current Guardians are two Juniors, Terry Arias and Quinn Blevins; they will perform with Marching Band during pregames and half-times.  These students receive a grade, as a section of the Band; they added Band to their academic schedule for Fall term.  Mrs. Blevins stated, “We would like to see a coed Color Guard team grow, with up-to-six members.”
