The Morrison Community Hospital Foundation, which sponsors the Morrison Community Garden in French Creek Park, held their end-of-the-year Harvest Celebration dinner at Prairie Ridge Golf Course, 903 W. Morris Street, Morrison, IL. On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, 26 gardeners and guests enjoyed a delicious buffet, engaged in conversations centered around gardening, and listened to a wonderful presentation by Master Gardener Alan Manchester, Morrison.
Manchester discussed organic options for plants, fertilizers, and weed and insect control, as well as ways to test your soil to get the best harvest possible.
MCHF wants to publicly thank
- Ron (Nancy) Shank, because he always plows the gardens in the spring and fall, preparing the beds for planting and wintering over.
- Volunteer Co-Chairs Pastor Mike Selburg and gardener Ed Pawlicki for their effective leadership.
