Janice J. Kness, 77, of Clinton, IA, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, in Dubuque, IA.
Janice Jeanne Dolan was born on January 13, 1947, in Clinton, the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth (Ingwersen) Dolan. She was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and later from Mount St. Clare College in 1981. She married Danny R. Kness on July 19, 1969 in Fulton, IL.
Janice was the Finance Director for Skyline for 20 years, retiring in 2017. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, was on the founding board of L’Arche USA, and served on the Arch Board of Directors. Janice also served on the Clinton Coalition for Disabled Persons, receiving the Distinguished Service award in 2011.
Janice loved watching “Jeopardy” and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed taking walks. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Janice is survived by her husband, Danny of Clinton; daughter, Dawn Kness-Bryan of Jupiter, FL; son, Bion Kness of Clinton; sister, Kay Vilmont of Davenport, IA.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton, IA.
