After finishing an undefeated 8-0 Northern Illinois Youth Tackle Football season, the Morrison, IL, NIYTF 8-and Under division football team competed at the Midwestern Gridiron Classic in DeKalb, IL, Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2, 2014. Morrison placed second in the tournament, losing a tough game to the Kaneland Knights White team, 12-6 in the Championship.
Most Valuable Player medals for each game were awarded to Morrison’s Cooper Bush, Afton Eyrich, and Chase Newman by the opposing teams.
The 2014 8U team members included Chase Newman, Carter Dillon, Karder White, Jason Hall, Logan Altman, Austin Boonstra, Carson Strating, Nathan Downes, Jonathon Hicks, Tanner Shannon, Evin Banks, Ethan Schroeder, Alex Bomleny, Kelly Hicks, Jeremiah Jones, Hunter Millerschone, Donny Reavy, Chase Decker, Cooper Bush, Levi Milder, Jaden Hamilton, Brayden Rubright, Afton Eyrich, Curtis Ebersohl, and Zachery Milder.
NIYTF and cheer league is available to girls and boys ages six through ten, in grades one through four.
