Rotarian Mick Welding stated, “Our February 2024 Morrison High School Students of the Month are Gracelyn Streets Wood and Blake Adams.” City of Morrison, IL, Mayor Scott Vandermyde is shown with the honorees at The Loft on Main.
“Gracelyn is the daughter of Jennifer Streets and Walter Wood. Her school activities include Band (seven years); Advanced Choir (four years); three years of Cross Country; four years of Track; four years of Basketball. She was also on the Yearbook staff last year and has served on Student Council four years. Gracelyn was a B.L.I.N.D leader last year, and she is a Sauk Academy student this year. She assisted with the Custom Pak picnic, and she regularly donates blood. Her hobbies include running, reading, playing the flute, and singing. She loves to try new things, which led her to work on the Yearbook, and she was the Madrigal Queen this year. Her future plans include attending Augustana College, majoring in Speech-Language Pathology. If she is able to maintain a high G.P.A., she will have a spot on their Track team.
Blake is the son of Shane and Angela Adams. He participated in Football and Basketball for four years and Track for two years. He is also a member of National Honor Society. Blake volunteered to help with the Kiwanis Club sandwich sales; set up the Cattlemen’s Association Food Stand at the Whiteside County Fair; helped carry food from the old Food Pantry to the new location. He enjoys weightlifting, spending time with friends,and playing video games. Blake’s future plans are to attend Loras College in Dubuque, IA, to major in Kinesiology and play Football.
