CGH Home Nursing Is Celebrating National Home Care Month-A Month Long Campaign in Motion Across the Country to Raise Awareness of Home Care
CGH Home Nursing is joining home care providers across the state and country this November to mark National Home Care Month. During November the home care community honors the millions of nurses, home care aides, therapists, and social workers who make a remarkable difference for the patients and families they serve. These heroic caregivers play a central role in our health care system and in homes across the nation.
“Caring for others is truly a privilege for us. We are very proud of our work that enables patients to remain in the most comfortable and familiar setting, their own homes,” said Judy Hentges, RN, BSN, CRNI, Director of CGH Home Nursing. “We are honored to help patients remain independent and close to their loved ones.”
Through technological advances, home-delivered health care has grown far beyond basic professional nursing and home care aide services. Today’s modern home care agency offers a wealth of nursing, physical, occupational, respiratory and speech therapies, counseling, dietary, laboratory, dental, optical, pharmacy, podiatry, x-ray, medical equipment and home medical supplies, and personal care.
Nationally, more than 11 million Americans receive home care services each year, according to the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Locally, CGH Home Nursing serves patients in Whiteside, Lee, Ogle, Carroll and Bureau counties.
“It is highly appropriate in November that we celebrate the nurses, therapists, aides, and other providers who choose to use their lives to serve our country’s aged, disabled, and dying,” said Hentges. “No work is nobler, and no group is more deserving of our respect and admiration.”
