Samantha R. Stablein, 16, of Erie, IL, died Saturday, October 25, 2014, from a car accident in rural Erie.
Samantha Rae Stablein was born October 16, 1998, in Sterling, IL. She was the daughter of John and Denise Stablein. She attended Erie High School where she was in her sophomore year. Sam was a fantastic artist. She also loved music from all genres. She had many hobbies, including target shooting, taking walks around town, choosing a new color for her hair, wearing headphones, and playing on her laptop. She took pleasure in “dressing up” her Dad and was the only one allowed to.
Survivors include her parents, John and Denise Stablein, Erie; siblings, Melissa Moore (Zack Blaszczyk), Matthew (Jennifer) Moore, Amber (Chris) Brackemyer, and Kyle Stablein; grandparents, Robin and Mike Conrad and Jim and Verna Ballard; step-grandmother, Carol Garriott; nieces and nephews, Aiden Blaszczyk, Teagin, Izzabelle, and Braezlee Brackemyer; special friend Anna Ryan; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; her beloved dogs, Tuffy, Sissy, and Chloe, and cat Whitey.
Sam was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Dennis and Beverly Garriott and a cousin, Taylar Jacobs.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL
Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2014, at the funeral home
Interment: Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL
