Coupe DeVille a Rocking Good Time

Posted by

Elvis, the Pinks, Lavern and Shirley and many Happy Days look-a-likes all showed up for a rocking good time at the Morrison Community Hospital Foundations “Jitterbug for the ER” on Saturday night.  With over 150 in attendance, the evening at Rastrelli’s Tuscany Room was a place to go back in time and remember the 50’s and 60’s.  The decorations and food left nothing behind with 45 rpm records and chevy cars as table decorations, life size replica’s of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean to have your photo taken with, old fashion coke glasses with candies from yester years adorned the tables  Malted milk shakes, hamburgers and pizza just like in the old days were just a few of the malt shop favorites served this evening. The Foundation committee kept the evening moving with human car races using boxes creatively painted and drivers costumed to fit their car.  The race of 6 cars was very competative! The winner of the race, on crutches no less, was Jeff Zachman complete with curlers in his wig and a pink scarf!

The band “Coupe De Ville” put on an outstanding show to put people on their feet, swinging and grooving.  Between music sets the silent and live auctions took place with an Italian dinner at the Girard home bringing in an over-the-top bid.  An enjoyable evening with a trip down memory lane for many was truely created by the Foundation committee and deserves a round of applause.
