ButchSundanceOdell Public Library Friends will present “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, in the Meeting Room at Odell, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.  The film will begin at 2:00 p.m., complete with popcorn and beverages.  There is no cost to attend, although donations are welcomed.

Set in the early 1900’s American West, you’ll delight in the antics of charismatic screen legends Paul Newman (Butch Cassidy) and Robert Redford (the Sundance Kid) as leaders of the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang.  Butch supplies the brains of the operation, while the Sundance Kid provides the might.  When the gang robs the same train one too many times, Butch and Sundance find themselves pursued by an unrelenting posse of six men.

School teacher and love interest Etta Place, played by Katherine Ross, helps the pair hide.  Unable to shake their pursuers, the three make the decision to flee to Bolivia.  Robbery in Bolivia proves difficult though, as Butch and Sundance struggle to master the Spanish language.  They briefly attempt to reform and hold honorable jobs.  Soon enough, the duo is on the run again!

Bring a friend and come find out how this classic American Western ends.
