It’s fall and a perfect time to golf. Starting Wednesday, October 1, Cross Creek Golf Course will be opening at 8:00 a.m., with reduced fall golf rates. The course will remain open as long as weather permits.

Morrison Christian Reformed Church and Morrison Presbyterian Church will hold a Citywide Paper Drive on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Christian Reformed Church parking lot, 300 W. South Street, Morrison. Bundle up those papers, broken-down cardboard, books, and magazines that you have been saving and recycle them. Items collected benefit Self-Help Enterprises, Sterling, IL.
Northside Elementary School, 520 N. Genesee Street, Morrison, will host a Community Blood Drive from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, in the school Cafeteria. Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission; form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate. Walk-ins are welcome. The CGH College/Career Day, sponsored by the CGH Staff Development Department, will be held Wednesday, October 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the CGH Ryberg Auditorium, 100 E.
