“Morrison Bark Park” was officially opened and presented to the City of Morrison, by a group of volunteers known as “On the Move with Parks and Recreation.” The committee earned over $70,000 through donations and fund-raising activities, during the past two years, to accomplish their final goal: a safe, quality place for citizens to allow their pets to roam and exercise. Located on N. Genesee Street, two enclosed spaces welcome all citizens to visit, relax, and spend time with their pets.

About 5:30 p.m., on Monday, September 11, 2023, members of the fund-raising committee gathered with many of the generous donors at a Ribbon-Cutting ceremony, to officially present the facility to the City of Morrison, open the canine recreation grounds, and thank all that had contributed time and money towards its creation.

Left-to-right are Nick Volkmann, Aldermen Vern Tervelt, and Harvey Zuidema, Michaele Burn, Trevan Burn, Mayor Scott Vandermyde, Karla Burn, Lorna Temple, Mike Buckwalter, Kathy Schmidt, Jim Strating, Charla Olson (with Snickers), and Todd Schlegel.

Donor Recognition: Signage listing the major donors appears near the entrance to Morrison Bark Park, located on N. Genesee Street.
