On Sunday, October 12, 2014, as part of the Sterling Rock Falls Historical Society meeting, the public is cordially invited to meet General Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia Dent Grant. They will discuss their lives and the historic times in which they live.
The Grants will be assisted by the historical interpretation team of Scott and Peggy Whitney of Steward, IL.
The program begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Ryberg Auditorium at CGH Medical Center, 100 E. LeFevre, in Sterling, IL.
It traces the Grants’ lives from 500 Bouthillier Street, Galena, IL, through the Civil War, to the 18th Presidency, and back to Galena, on an often rocky journey. The Grant home is shown below.
