Wear Football Clothing to Donate Blood September 18

“It is so easy to give blood, and it takes less than an hour of your time, once every eight weeks.  You will help up to three recipients with life-threatening medical needs.  Most of us know someone who has received a blood product at some point in their lives, whether it is an immune-suppressed person with cancer, an anemic pregnant mother-to-be, or a patient in an Emergency Room suffering from traumatic injuries.  Few of us have not been touched by knowing someone who has had a tragedy occur, where they were given longer time on this earth because of receiving life-saving blood products,” stated Kaywyn J. Beswick, R.N./Morrison American Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator.

ISUglovesThe public has an opportunity to make a difference on Thursday, September 18, 2014, during the American Red Cross Blood Drive.  It will be held at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, from noon to 6:00 p.m.  Walk-ins are always welcome.

To encourage and reward donors, each person who wears a piece of football-themed clothing will have their name entered in a drawing.  Some lucky sports fan will win a $25 gift card at Sullivan’s Foods.

Choose Morrison school teams, college squads, or football professionals.  Wear a hat, t-shirt or jersey, sweatshirt or hoodie, scarf, jacket, or socks.

Support your favorite team.  Bring in your own team of friends, co-workers, or significant other. Give blood.  Support the gift of life.  Go, Team Donors!
