This summer, residents and visitors have another option to get outdoors and explore the Hennepin Canal. Rock Falls Tourism now offers self-service kayak rentals and equipment.
The 4-unit kayak rental kiosk is from Rent.Fun and is located at 2400 1st Avenue, Rock Falls, IL, near the Route 40 Hennepin Canal boat launch. The rate is $30 for a 2-hour rental, and $10 per hour after that. Rentals include kayak, paddle, personal flotation device, and a wheeled dolly.
Users will scan a QRcode on the cage to reserve a kayak for a specific amount of time. When finished, users unlock the cage in the app and return the equipment. Users must be at least 18 years old.
Rock Falls is happy to be able to offer this along with their bicycle rentals, which are located at the RB&W District, 201 E. 2nd Street, Rock Falls.
