Registrations are being taken for the 27th Annual Harvest Hammer 5K run; 21 mile Duathlon; and children’s Wee Run, Fun Run, and Challenge Run. This year’s event will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL. Children’s events begin at 8:15 a.m., and the 5K and Duathlon begins at 9:00 a.m.
Register by Saturday, September 13, 2014, to avoid a $5 additional fee in the 5K/Duathlon. There is no fee to register online at www.getmeregistered.com.
New this year is a Color Run. Watch for registration information in the next couple weeks. Proceeds from this event benefit local youth, education, community, and international projects of Morrison Rotary Club.
T-shirts will go to the first 500 runners to register. Two bicycles, donated by Mike’s Body Shop, will be awarded at the Children’s Events. Back again this year is the Pam Bush Memorial Event for children.
The Runner Age groups will be as follows:
- Wee Run: Pre-K to 2nd Grade
- Fun Run: 3rd to 5th Grade
- Challenge Run: 5th to 8th Grade
- 5K Run: 13 and Under, 14 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over.
Duathlon categories are: male individual, female individual, male team, female team, and co-ed team.
The runners will receive awards in the kids’ events, and three-deep male and female in each event will receive a trophy. Ribbons will go to all Wee Run. Fun Run participants will get age division awards three-deep.
For Duatheletes, awards will go three-deep by age group and to the top three in male and female Duathlete, male team Duathlon, female team Duathlon, and co-ed teams.
