Katheryn Ann Hogue (1967 – 2023)

Katheryn Ann Hogue, 55, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA.

Kathy was born November 28, 1967, in Plainfield , NJ, to Kent and Naomi (Corathers) Babbitt. Her family moved to Milwaukee, WI, for a short period of time and then to Libertyville, IL, where she grew up. Kathy attended high school in Libertyville and earned a BA from Barat College in Lake Forest, IL. Kathy loved children and worked in many of the nurseries at the churches she attended; she was baptized at Cross Roads Community Church in Libertyville. She taught preschool for a short period of time and then devoted herself to her family, which includes husband Darryl, sons, Ryan and Noah, and daughters, Anna and Alli. She was a natural caregiver and loved serving her family. She thoroughly enjoyed watching Ryan play high school Volleyball, Anna cheering, Noah playing Golf, Basketball, and Baseball, and Alli dancing. Kathy loved to travel, and playing cards and board games with her friends.

She and her family moved to Morrison in 2005 to seek new adventures and opportunities. Kathy dedicated herself to assessing properties in Whiteside County as a Township Assessor. She helped publish assessing manuals and was well respected in the township assessing community.

Survivors include her husband, Darryl of Morrison; children, Ryan Hogue of Libertyville, Anna (Cory) Brown of New Bern, NC, Noah Hogue of Wheaton, IL, and Alli Hogue of Edwardsville, IL; mother, Naomi Babbit of Libertyville; brother, David Babbitt of Chicago, IL; niece Sydney (Chris) Moody of Crystal Lake, IL.

A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Brethren in Christ Church in Morrison, IL, with Pastor Craig Sipes and Dale Timmons co-officiating, with a time of fellowship and refreshment to follow.

There will be no Visitation.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established for the purchase of children’s books.
