Shirley A. Noble (1935 – 2014)

Shirley A. Noble, age 78, of Walnut, IL, died Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Unity Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

Shirley was born on October 1, 1935, in Sublette, IL, the daughter of  Orville and Millie (Foss) White. She was united in marriage to Arden Noble on June 6, 1954, in Walnut.  He preceded her in death on July 2, 2008.  Shirley worked at First National Bank in Sterling, IL, for two years and then at Citizens First State Bank in Walnut for 13 years.  She also worked at the Bureau County Court House in the Clerk and Recorder Office for three years and in the Treasurer Office for four years, retiring in 1998. Shirley was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut where she served as Church Treasurer for many years. She loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Ann (Noble) Doering of Davenport, IA; two sons, Douglas Arden (Robin) Noble of Harrisonburg, VA, and Bradley Alan (Jackie) Noble of Morrison, IL; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Charles Orville White.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Walnut, IL, with the Rev. Brian Moore, Pastor, officiating.  

Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery, Walnut, IL.  

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, IL.

A memorial has been established to The First Christian Church of Walnut, IL, and ALS.
