FrozenTuesday, August 12, 2014, is “Movie Day” at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.  Prepare to be “Frozen”  “Frozen” by Walt Disney’s hugely popular, musically animated film.  Odell Public Library Friends invite you to the cool Program Room, to see what the hype and raves are all about.  The movie begins at 2:00 p.m., complimented by popcorn and a cool drink.

Elsa is icy.  Everything she touches actually freezes solid!  She can send ice and snow flying with a slight gesture of her hand.  She is colder than a popsicle.

Elsa accidentally zaps her sister Anna with one of her frigid blasts, which sends Anna to the Disney version of the ER–some wise, old trolls.  Anna is made to forget, but Elsa’s magic grows stronger and stronger.  Elsa, afraid of her powers, closes herself off both emotionally and literally from any human contact.  But, it is not to be.  At Elsa’s coronation, Anna grabs Elsa’s hand and the cold sweeps in.  Elsa flees and escapes into the wild leaving a trail of icicles, closing herself off so that she does hurt anyone again.  Anna, of course, loves her sister and goes on a journey to find her.

In “Frozen,” love not only makes everything better; it makes us, the viewer, better, too.  We are reminded that we need to try to accept and help people who are different from us, even if those differences are a little scary.

There is something different about these ladies, something that is special. They are characters in a story about learning to love.  It is not a movie that just entertains; it also speaks to us about the relationships of family and friendship

There is no charge for admission, although donations are appreciated.  Children who attend this movie must briing an adult chaperone.

See you at the movies!
