As the beginning of Lent, Ash Wednesday services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the following six Morrison, IL, churches. The public is welcome to attend any service, morning or evening
- Bethesda Lutheran Church, 301 W. South Street, offers a 7:00 p.m. message, a choir, Imposition of Ashes, and Holy Communion.
- First Presbyterian Church of Morrison, 100 E. Lincolnway, offers a 7:00 p.m. service with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.
- Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, offers Imposition of Ashes for walk-ins during office hours, 9:00 a.m. to noon; a 6:00 p.m. service with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.
- St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 401 N. Cherry Street, offers 9:00 a.m. Morning Prayer with Imposition of Ashes; 5:30 p.m. Holy Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes.
- St. Mary Catholic Church, 13320 Garden Plain Road, offers an 8:30 a.m. and a 6:00 p.m. Mass with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion. (Friday night, February 24, will begin the Stations of the Cross Masses.)
- St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church LCMS, 601 N. Jackson Street, offers a 7:00 p.m. service with Imposition of Ashes.
