Dale Sugars, 78 of Sterling, IL, died Saturday, February 11, 2023.
Dale was born March 11, 1944, in Greenville Township, the son of Delmar and Esther (Schrader) Sugars. He married Donna Smith on June 19, 1987, in Sterling. Dale retired from Frantz Manufacturing after 40+ years of service. He was a member of the Manlius Sportsmans Club and Green River Saddle Club. He was the former New Bedford, IL, Volunteer Fire Chief. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Most of all Dale loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughters, Theresa (Bill Johnson) Love of Princeton, IL, Tammy Sugars of Sterling, Tina (Dan) Dykstra of Morrison, IL; son, Craig (Debbie) Hills of Dixon, IL; son-in-law, David Oaks of Princeton, IL; brother, Larry (Maxine) Sugars of New Bedford; brothers-in-law, Greg (Dianne) Smith of Casper, WY, and Gordon (Marcia) Smith of Russiaville, IN; sister-in-law, Shirley Sugars of Victoria, TX; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Heather, Dustin, Jeannette, Brittany, Ryan, Corey, Aaron, Taylor, Sydney, Robert, and Jeremy; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Oaks; brother, Eugene Sugars; mother-in-law, Evelyn Smith.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday February 17, 2023, at First Christian Church in Sterling, IL, with Pastor Zack Mapes, officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Church.
Burial will take place immediately following, at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
