Robert “Bob” W. Tiesman, 85, of Morrison, IL, died on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA.
Bob was born March 27, 1937, in Dixon, IL, to Claus and Hilda (Haan) Tiesman. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He married Dorothy Swanson on July 18, 1980, in Morrison. She died September 27, 2018. He was employed at General Electric in Morrison. He was an avid golfer. Bob, along with his wife, enjoyed camping and spending time with their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their beloved dogs.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Stage of Fulton, IL; son, Tom (Debbie) Tiesman of Sterling, IL; stepdaughter, Angie (Ron) Kuykendall of Erie, IL; stepson, Barry (Jane) Houzenga of Morrison; 17 grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Axel Miller; sister, Gertrude Buikema of Morrison; brothers, Kenny Tiesman of AZ, Ron Tiesman of Sterling, and Harlan (Diana) Tiesman of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; one grandson in infancy, Thomas Tiesman; son-in-law, Ray Stage; sister, Jeanette Hook; brothers, Harold, John, Tom, and Claus Tiesman.
A Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m.to noon, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
There will be a Celebration of Life Luncheon following the visitation, at 1:00 p.m., at the Sterling Moose Lodge, 2601 E. Lincolnway, Sterling, IL 61081.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the Visitation.
A memorial has been established.
