The Department of Central Management Services has received notice from Governor J. B. Pritzker that all person or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act are to fly the flags at half-staff, in honor and remembrance of Firefighter Brian Rehnberg of the North Park [Machesney, IL,] Fire Department.
Please lower the United States flags and the State flags at all buildings from Sunrise to Sunset, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
The North Park Fire Protection District announced the passing of Firefighter/Engineer Brian ‘Tater’ Rehnberg on Christmas Day, 2022. He died in the line of duty, shortly after returning home from his shift and responding to calls.
“It is with a heavy heart that the North Park Fire Protection District announces the passing of Brian ‘Tater’ Rehnberg. [Since 2008, he] was an active member of the Department and just recently re-obtained his EMT….Brian was always looking to better himself and those around him. He also served previously with Cherry Valley Fire and Lifeline ambulance,” stated Chief Joel Hallstrom.
