Nancy J. Merrill, formerly of Sterling, IL, died Thursday, July 2, 2014, at her home in Laurel, Md.
Nancy was born October 12, 1955, in Morrison, IL, the daughter of Gene and Janet (Janke) Smith. She married Steven Merrill on March 6, 1981, in Sterling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She also was a bookkeeper for the Bi-County Special Education Cooperative for 12 years and co-owner of NSM Properties. Nancy loved spending quality time with her truly cherished grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Steven of Laurel; daughter, Jennifer (Stephen) McCormick of Silver Spring, MD; sons, Cameron Foreman and Dustin Merrill, both of Sterling; brother, David Smith of Marshalltown, IA; sister in-law, Cindy Smith of Morrison; grandchildren, Gage Foreman of Rock Falls, IL, and Victoria and Tucker McCormick, both of Silver Spring.
She was proceeded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Thomas Smith.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established.
