MACF Grain and Hay Donation to WHOA

Posted by

Morrison Area Community Foundation (MACF) awarded $1600 in grant funds to White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center (WHOA.) The funds will be used to help supply hay and grain for the horses during the fall/winter of 2022 and the spring/summer/fall of 2023.

Hay prices have increased 40% this year, due to rising fuel costs and the availability of quality horse hay. The special Senior Horse grain that is used has increased 35%. Without hay/grain to feed the horses WHOA’s program would cease to exist for their students. WHOA currently serves 26 clients with horse therapy.

WHOA Director Tawny Wiersema expressed her gratitude to MACF, as well as area hay donors in past years. To make a donation of hay or money, contact Wiersema at 815-535-6208.
