River Bend Receives “Clean” Audit

The Wednesday, October 19, 2022, Board of Education meeting of the River Bend School District opened with the annual audit report, from the Benning Group, LLC. The District received a “Clean” audit rating, accompanied with a management letter stating an ‘excellent rating’ emphasizing “no cause for concern.”

The Principals’ reports featured team and individual successes among the monthly activities for their respective schools.
Elementary: Successful “House Days” multi-grade activities.
Middle School: Owen VanZuiden finished 4th at the IESA State Golf Tournament. Seventh Grade are Conference Champs.
High School: Varsity Football team qualifies for IHSA State Playoffs. Golf team advances to Sectional Golf at TPC Deere Run.

In Action Items presented, the following received a unanimous vote of approval:
acceptance of 2022 Financial Audit Report
approval of Workman’s Compensation Insurance Proposal from Illinois Public Risk Fund (IPRF)
approved Technology Disaster Recovery Plan (TDRP)
approved Resolution to adopt the 2022 Whiteside County Multi-Jurisdictional All Hazards Mitigation Plan
approved Estimated Board Member Expenses for the Triple I Conference
approved Health Life Safety Amendments ($42,780.20 for new locks and doors in the Elementary School and $22,304 for new locks and a secure door in the Middle School)
approved Behavior Interventionist Job Description
declared Fulton High School ten, red, rectangle and four, gray, round Cafeteria tables as surplus goods, and approved disposal in an appropriate manner
accepted Gifts to the District from the Eric Ottens Memorial in the amount of $3630 for Fulton Elementary School tablets.

The next scheduled meeting of the Board of Education is Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fulton High School.
