robert hubbardRobert E. Hubbard, 84, of Coleta, IL, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, surrounded by his family.

Born November 6, 1929, in Milledgeville, IL, he was a son of John Q. and Luella (Garwick) Hubbard. On November 26, 1953, he was united in marriage to Lula Myers in Rock Falls, IL.

Bob was a hot saw operator in the 24″ mill at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for 41 years until his retirement. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed cars, especially Fords, driving his boat, helping his daughters whenever he could, and most of all spoiling his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Lula, of Coleta; his daughters, Jynx Schoaf of Tipperary, Ireland, Jeri Hubbard of Coleta, Jaci (Keith) Brandt of Morrison, IL, and Jodi (Jeff) Seidel of Coleta; his grandchildren, Brian (Shinobu) Buckley, IL, Rhonda (Eric) Stelck, Marti Brandt, and Kali Hubbard; his step-grandchildren, Jacob Brandt and Amber Brandt; his great-grandchildren, Ian Stelck, Dylan Stelck, and Shayln Stelck; his sisters, Delores Smith of Morrison and Barbara (Larry) Clark of Rock Falls; several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John R. Hubbard, Darrell Hubbard, Keith Hubbar, and a brother-in-law, Raymond Smith.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014, in the funeral home with Pastor Wilmer Houck officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park with military honors.
