Parker Lee Pruis is a five-mont- old who has been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, or fluid on the brain.
Parker and his parents, Caitlin (Fisk) and Casey Pruis are extraordinary people who have had to endure so much. Less than 24 hours after Parker was born, the family was rushed to Iowa City Children’s Hospital due to a brain bleed which was causing seizures. The family spent their first Christmas in the hospital, watching their precious baby hooked up to machines. The next month, things did not improve. Parker was again rushed to the hospital due to an enlarged head and was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. It was then at two months old he had emergency brain surgery. Since his initial surgery, Parker has faced many obstacles in his recovery, including a bacterial infection which has caused him to be hospitalized once again. He successfully completed his third brain surgery in April.
The Pruis family remains strong and continues to count their blessings despite their heartache. Never once have they asked for assistance. However, with mounting medical bills it is time for someone to ask for them.
