Paint the Town With the Loft on Main

The Loft on Main, 112 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, will be closed on Saturday, September 17, 2022, during the downtown Paint the Town event. However, The Loft will be open on Sunday, September 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Main Street will be blocked off all day Sunday.

Several artists who exhibit at The Loft on Main will be present on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They will demonstrate and/or explain their art and the process they use to produce it. Illinois artists who will be present are:

Lloyd Beckman – Sterling – wood turning
Daryl Drennen – Prophetstown – blacksmith
Ed Hammelman – Rock Falls – wood chip carving
Mari Jo Schuneman – Sterling – felting
Carole Isenhart – Garden Plain – braiding
Terri Villa Engelkens – Morrison – creative repurposing
Charles Yost – Chicago – metal sculpture
Mary Katos – Elizabeth – photography.

Katos also will take professional photos of your pet. Appointments must be scheduled by emailing Mary at mary@gardenshedstudio.com or calling 815-990-6830. Cost is $50 plus tax. Katos will donate $25 of that amount to the Morrison Bark Park project.

The drawing for the Luck of the Draw fundraiser will be held at the Loft at 2:00. To participate, make a $15 donation to The Loft on Main and register for the drawing. Donors will win a piece from the Tiny Art Show, which was held at Odell Public Library. View the 4″ square pieces in the window at The Loft. A few tickets are still available for purchase.

Community State Bank will provide popcorn from noon to 4:00.

DQ Grill & Chill is donating Dilly Bars and Star Kisses, limit 1/person, at The Loft from 1:00 to 3:00, while supply lasts. Arnie Drolema, Owner of Yarbrough Appliance, donated the use of a freezer for the event.
